The duo's debut album, Anaana (2018), was received with praise by leading music media such as NME, KCRW, Rolling Stone Magazine and BBC Radio 1 and created the sounding board for the mention of Cari Cari as a love child between The Kills and The xx.

Cari Cari is now out with their latest album, One More Trip Around The Sun (2025). The record materializes the sound of several years as musical pathfinders with artistic growth, which Stephanie Widmer encapsulates with the following wording in a press release: “It's a journey through our own universe, a reflection of the world as it feels in this moment.”

One More Trip Around The Sun is completely playful, innovative and seductive in its playing with alternative instruments such as didgeridoo and jew's harp. However, Cari Cari never loses sight of the good melody and the pop beats, and it is precisely in the fusion of the familiar and the alternative that the duo's magic occurs. The album invites the listener to explore new territories of sound and imagination, and cements Cari Cari as one of the most inciting bands in 2025.

Cari Cari consists of Stephanie Widmer and Alexander Koeck, both of whom are equipped with two sets of creative green fingers, with which they create everything from their music, illustrations, videos and scenography.
