Floodlights indie rock vibrates in VEGA
Australian indie rock band Floodlights made a massive impact with their 2019 EP Backyard and their critically acclaimed debut album From A View the following year. They've played a string of sold-out shows and festivals in Australia and have performed with the likes of Amyl and The Sniffers and Arctic Monkeys.
Last year, the band released their second album Painting of My Time. The album has received countless praise from international critics. NME wrote in their five-star review: "On their second album, the Melbourne quartet take their place among the ranks of the country's most unflinching truth-tellers."
Floodlights are known for their dynamic live performances that are equal parts raw and intimate, creating a seamless universe.
Evocative lyricism has always been at the core of their songwriting and is enhanced by their unique sound universe of propulsive drums, catchy guitar lines and magical hooks.
Since the beginning of their short career, Floodlights have explored themes of personal dislocation, identity and the Australian landscape as a form of escapism.
