Gunge creates catchy pop music with honest lyrics about the youth life with all that it entails. Her debut release, "Ambulance", is off to a flying start with great lyrics, playlist placements and radio airplay. Now she announces her first headliner concert at VEGA's Ideal Bar in Copenhagen.

Based on personal experiences from a bittersweet and turbulent youth, Gunge writes honest songs in Danish, carried forward by a whimsical and figurative language that contains both melancholy and self-irony. Gunge started her music career in a small, enclosed basement studio in Østerbro. In the meeting with a hip-hop collective who wanted to use her for hooks, Copenhagen-based Gunge found out that everything in music did not need to be polished, and that a boxed red wine and hand-rolled cigarettes can also belong in a good pop- hook.

Later, she found a musical collaboration in co-producer and artist Daniel Joy, who could reflect her fascination with pop music in a version that can be just as hard-hitting and emotional as hip-hop.

With the debut release "Ambulance", Gunge conveys and visualizes a classic youth scenario of being chosen for someone else, set in the streets of Copenhagen. The single has gained momentum in the form of radio plays, playlist positions and nice mentions from, among others, Politiken and Soundvenue, where the latter referred to the song as "a catchy hook, the kind you can't go wrong with".

Gunge has previously performed at Byhaven and as support for Ella Augusta, but the concert at Ideal Bar will be her first as a headliner. With her honest songwriting and distinctive vocals, there is no doubt that the audience can expect a special experience when Gunge takes the stage.
