Bittersweet and powerful stories from Jacob Alon
Jacob Alon is a Scottish singer-songwriter with a knack for storytelling. Their music is both intimate and piercing, with Alon's powerful vocals, complex guitar playing and thoughtful, poetic lyrics.
According to critics, the Scottish artist has left a deep impression with the singles 'Fairy In A Bottle' (2024) and the breathlessly honest follow-up 'Confession' (2024).
This year they released the single “Liquid gold 25” (2025). The track is a prime example of why Alon could very well be one of Britain’s most promising young folk musicians in decades.
Alon describes his latest release as: “it's about the tormenting cycles of self-love and loathing, deleting, redownloading… The self-harming practice of chasing after something that you know will hurt you(…).”
Born and raised by a young, single mother in the quiet suburbs of Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland, Alon learned his first piano piece from his mother at a school show at the age of nine and later picked up the guitar at 15.
While Alon was studying medicine at university, he found himself deeply confused and unhappy, as they only found joy in making music. To their family's disapproval, they decided to drop out and pursue their true dream full-time.
