Indie pop and guitar tones merge in an Icelandic community
With alternative pop and the guitar as a tool, Super sports! musical storytelling and expressiveness. For the band, it is paramount to prioritize the collective, to harmonize and practice friendship and solidarity.
The quartet was formed in a manic moment on a bar dance floor in Reykjavík. The foundation for the genesis of Supersport! is manifested in the way the group has worked since; driven by the excitement and urge to create.
“It's instantly clear why Supersport! are a crowd favourite, a sweet artsy bunch who's no frills indie-pop performance is driven by an honest love of music and each other" writes the music and fashion magazine Clash.
Supersport! originates from the underground of Reykjavík's vibrant music scene, are champions of the do-it-together ideology and among "Iceland's most prolific indie bands" according to Reykjavík Grapevine.
On the band's latest album everything that has happened (2024) is a central theme, conceptualizing the balance between stillness and movement. The album presents Supersport!'s most vulnerable level to date, but where playfulness remains at the core of the work.
Nina and Alfred
Nina and Alfred bend the understanding of indie rock and challenge the traditional framework with an artistic surrealism and a strong improvisational sensibility in their music. It was a stroke of luck when the mysterious duo found each other and discovered that they were musical twins.
The duo's debut EP I Guess I'm Just A Gnome consists of four songs that express worldviews through an occult lens. Together they attempt to find new methods for creating music that challenges the status quo.
