School of X sends VEGA into seventh heaven
2025 October 24th, the cream of the Danish alternative pop scene will be in Store VEGA when School of X releases its melancholic pop melodies.
Behind the alias School of X is musician Ramus Littauer, who as former VEGA's Udvalgte and musical collaborator with artists such as Liss, Trentemøller, MØ and Deb Never, has really nailed his name to the Danish music scene.
With releases such as Armlock (2020) and Dancing Through the Void (2021), School of X has gained international recognition for its powerful alternative, melancholic pop. Now the singer-songwriter is back with a new sound in the form of the album, Seventh Heaven (2024).
On Seventh Heaven, School of X drapes the listener in propulsive drums, gritty and noisy guitars, synths and strings - all spun into starkly beautiful and sharply-cut indie pop with lyrics about breakups, longing and the search for happiness.
In the album's title Seventh Heaven, School of X attempts to encapsulate a thematic duality. The musician revolves around the desire to be in a positive state; filled with the undisputed good, but at the same time the title is a realisation of the unattainability and utopia of desire. The miracle is in the balance. Littauer says in a press release:
"I've always wanted to go to seventh heaven. To feel really good, without pain and worries. I realise more and more that this is not possible and that it's all a balancing act. Gradually, I think the solution is to make better friends with the darkness and in that way make the light win. Maybe that's the way into the seventh heaven."
Audiences can look forward to an evening of the cream of the alternative pop scene when School of X broadcasts live from the seventh heaven.
