The pop caravan continues in VEGA with Sofie1998
One of the most sparkling stars in the Danish pop sky, VEGA, returns, shortly after she stood in a completely sold-out Ideal Bar.
Most recently, she released the huge party banger “Carpe Diem”, which has made its mark on, among others, P4 and with great playlist placements on Spotify. The song is about trying to see the meaningful in even the darkest periods. In the press release, she writes:
"Carpe Diem is a song that tries to address how we navigate all the impressions we are bombarded with via our screens. Sometimes I can become completely apathetic because I get so overwhelmed by the amount of information, misery and all the other shit that comes up on my fyp".
When Sofie1998 hits Lille VEGA in October with her R&B-infused pop tones, the audience can sing along to the catchy and thought-provoking hit “Marianne and Henrik.” The song is about not wanting to have children, and at the same time highlights the doubts that can be associated with making that particular choice.
The song is the sound of folk-country pop, where the narrative and emotions shine through. It is a meeting between the soft and organic and the dramatic sound choice in the production and chords.
In 2020, the songwriter with the civil name Sofie Bach moved from Jutland to Copenhagen in her pursuit of a music career. She participated in the KarriereKanonen development course in 2022, where her final place in the course has served as a catalyst for the refinement of her musical expression and craft.
