Everything from a spontaneously composed poem to a long-forgotten audio memo has been included when the British-Colombian musicians from Loving have made their new albumAny Lightfrom this year.

The duo approached their album with a calm and exploratory energy that has led to a work that oozes charm and romance. But the band also manages to delve into the harsher sides of life, such as depression and existential uncertainty, in their honest lyrics.

One half of the band, David Parry, describes their creative processes as follows:

"I'm always busy recording our ideas and seeing what comes out of them, without really worrying about what anything turns into, often we just keep cycling through different versions of songs until we find the one we love the most.".

With the sound of all kinds of instruments such as trumpets, strings, organ, timpani and vibraphone, the record is permeated with new musical adventures that go beyond the classic indie folk genre, in which Loving has previously had a solid foothold.
