Japanese Minami Deutsch , Lille VEGA spins into hypnotic krautrock tones on May 5th.

Grounded in psychedelic and krautrock inspired tones, the Japanese quartet, Minami Deutsch, has been providing listeners worldwide with their distinctive hypnotic and repetitive approach to songwriting since 2014.

Repetition and the circular are actually such an integral part of the band's musical DNA that they call themselves "repetition freaks" - and their love for repetition resonates on their releases as well as on the live stage.

In 2018, the band released the album With Dim Light, which was reviewed by the leading magazine Pitchfork, and in 2022 the sequel landed, Fortune Goodies, which upon its release was highlighted by The Quietus as one of the best releases of the month. The Quietus wrote:

“The album's tracks flow together easily with a cosy, mesmeric warmth that marks this apart from the band's previous releases.” The love for krautrock is palpable, and Minami Deutsch translates directly to “Southern Germany,” which is why it makes sense that their music at times draws inspiration from krautrock legends like Neu! and CAN.

In 2024, Minami Deutsch completed two North American tours, including supporting Earthless and performing at Levitation Festival, further cementing their position as a leading voice in modern kraut/psychedelic music.

They also played at the Roadburn Festival in 2019, a performance that is also immortalized on the single release, “Live at Roadburn”.
