PATINA sharpen their pop knives in VEGA
PATINA is many things, but first and foremost a band born out of the community, curiosity and colourful musicality of seven good friends.
In 2019, PATINA won Karrierekanonen, while the single "Flammer Rammer" became the most played song on P3 the following year. The debut album, Drømmefanger (2021), oozed charm and eloquence with its quirky and playful poetry. The album included the hit single, "Sådan Må Det Det Være (Uhhhh)", which paved the way for tours and sold-out concerts.
The year after the group's first record, they released the follow-up, GENSTART (2022), where a more introverted melancholy was given a loving treatment with rockier tones.
Especially on the road, PATINA has managed to turn their universe into a high-energy live phenomenon, and with GENSTART - and the big-hitting title song from it - the band embarked on their biggest summer tour to date, with milestones such as Fredagsrock in Tivoli and Smukfest this year. In a 5-star concert review in Fyens Stiftstidende in the spring of 2023, the words read:
"PATINA now have a solid handful of pop songs of the highest calibre on their conscience" and that they "together they paint a picture of a band with poetic flair, an innate ability to write catchy lyrics and not least the ability to release them in front of an audience."
Support: Kayak
Kayak has taken a place on the Danish pop scene that has yet to be filled. The constellation consists of Eva Berghamar, Carl Magnus Olsen and Albert Odgaard - three friends who write Danish-language indie pop with good songwriting at the centre.
The sound of Kayak is big and theatrical but also intimate and stripped down. It's a universe shrouded in synth layers, airy vocals and experimental guitar parts. With a curious approach to production, the band endeavours to explore the boundaries of their own understanding of genre, but beneath the surface lies a love for the good, classic pop song.
Kayak wants to challenge the average pop listener. But Kayak will also grab you; right in the middle of the feelings you may not have known you had - or that you may not have realised you are not alone.
