Mina Okabe, Tamara, Fine, and Melodi Ghazal are ready for the rest of the world!
One of our most important tasks as an independent music venue is to make a difference in the talent development of Danish artists. Following our concert evening VEGA's Selected, where we present brand new Danish artists, Verden Venter is the next step in the development journey.
Therefore, on October 10 in collaboration with MXD - Music Export Denmark four Danish artists whose careers are ready for a journey outside of Denmark. ROYA , Tamara , Fine and Melodi Ghazal make up the evening's program.
“As a booker, our talent work is one of the most exciting things. For this evening, I have spent a lot of time selecting the right artists and creating a program that covers a wide range but also fits well together, showing the incredible amount of talent that exists in the Danish music scene right now. Verden Venter is an opportunity for us to provide a platform for artists that we see a lot of potential in and that we believe we will see much more of in the future,” says Annika Jonsson, Venue Programmer at VEGA.
Verden Venter was held for the first time in 2020 and Drew Sycamore, Scarlet Pleasure, and Giift have been part of the lineup among others.
You can look forward to a concert evening where one ticket gives you access to four vibrant Danish names, where the first international steps are just around the corner.
ROYA
Immerse yourself in the universe of the duo ROYA, where Nordic melodies and ethereal vocals flow over intense and electronic pop-house productions. Last year they released their debut EP Dear Space and have since become a viral sensation on TikTok and Instagram.
Tamara
Behind the project is Tamara Mneney, who grew up in the Faroe Islands with Tanzanian roots. Through her unique voice, the R&B songs revolve around Mneneys upbringing in the Faroe Islands, where the young artist often felt left out. But there is a place where she has always felt she had a place, and that is in music. Her debut EP Perks of a Wild Heart was released in October, and at the beginning of the year, the single “E” landed the same day Tamara took the stage as part of VEGA's Selected 2024.
Fine
Fine grew up with a blend of country and folk music on one side and MTV pop/R&B on the other. The two different poles are also present in her latest single "Days Incomplete". In the song, which is recorded, produced, and mixed by Fine, you can hear sounds of guitars and samples softly weaving around her voice. There are hints of Mazzy Star clouds dancing drum patterns, country/folk vibes in the background, and an underlying electronic drive as a contrast. Fine's debut album Rocky Top Ballads will be released at the beginning of June.
Melodi Ghazal
Melodi Ghazal is a Danish-born Iranian songwriter, producer, and singer. She creates hybrid pop/R&B that naturally challenges cultural and musical boundaries.
In her reference-blending musical universe, inner and outer worlds meet, fragility with strength, and Persian with English. For Verden Venter, Melodi will perform her new unreleased songs, created in collaboration with Villads Klint (Minais B). The songs are musical translations of her various homes, bringing together MTV, Man-o-To-TV channel, eurodance, and satellite dishes into a contrasting and humorous mix.
