New Danish Live Act of the Year is coming to Store VEGA
Zar Paulo was named "New Danish Live Act of the Year" at the Danish Music Awards 2023. On December 19th, you can experience their captivating and critically acclaimed live shows when they make their way to VEGA.
Since 2022, Zar Paulo has been on a targeted mission to break into the Danish music scene. Their debut album Elendig Software has landed on several media lists of the year's best releases, they have garnered top reviews for their live concerts and sold over 15,000 tickets to their headlining shows around the country.
"The past two years have bent reality. "Klap For Fædrelandet" became a portal into a new world, where suddenly there were people who wanted to listen to our music and come to our concerts. A lot of things have happened, and we are very overwhelmed and grateful for the response we have received around the country. It's really been huge for us. Now we're going into the studio and making new music, and we're really looking forward to returning to the four venues this fall," says lead singer Emil Vammen.
Support: Østen
In January, Aarhus-based Østen released his first single, "Regn", which got off to a flying start with a premiere on Soundvenue, Ugen Uundgåelige (Inevitable of the week) on P3 and a prime-time performance on X Factor.
The follow-up, "Når Du Rører Ved Mig", released at the end of March, tells an honest and universal story about the complexities of connecting with another human being. About being afraid to lean into the relationship for fear of not being caught, and what can happen if you try anyway.
Østen made his headlining debut in April with a sold-out show at Ideal Bar. In the same month, he announced autumn concerts in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense, the first two of which are now sold out.
In May, Østen performed on Lille Scene in Musikhuset at this year's SPOT Festival, where the overwhelming turnout meant that many people had to go in vain. The concert received high praise from several media outlets.
