With Vancouver as his backdrop, the Australian-born musician and producer Jack J forges dreamy pop tones in his indie universe. Jack J's debut album, Opening the Door, was released in spring 2022 and garnered positive reviews and mentions from Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and Bandcamp.

After two tours in 2023, Jack J returned to his studio in Vancouver to complete the follow-up record to Opening the Door.

The upcoming album continues the sophisticated pop explorations that were hinted at Opening the Door. A sound realized on the 2023 single "Foolish Man"; 12-string electric guitar strum evokes associations to early Primal Scream, dreamy reverb reminiscent of AR Kane and a sharp pop sensibility built around effortless hooks and beautiful melancholy lyrics. The album will be released in September 2024.
