Masterful DIY releases from the up-and-coming GB
With myriads of symphonic collages, ambient sound levels and spherical guitar figures, GB opens the door to his magical indie pop landscape in Lille VEGA on September 18th.
London-based Danish musician Gustav Berntsen, under the stage name GB, releases atmospheric, guitar-driven songs that blend experimental pop, rock elements and symphonic grandeur. The lyrics revolve around deep themes such as loneliness, longing, melancholy and hope.
In May 2024, he released his beautiful debut album Gusse Music. Over the course of 33 minutes, GB takes the listener on a magical, musical journey right into the innermost chamber of the heart.
The album received countless praises and the British newspaper, The Guardian, compared GB's deconstructed pop compositions to one of the leading figures of avant-garde pop, Arthur Russell.
The follow-up to the debut album will be released on August 21st. The album is titled Heartbreak and will be released on the English indie label AD93.
The eminent songwriter has been a leading figure on the Danish alternative scene for the last ten years, where he has struck the chords in bands such as Pardans, Gusse B and Dirt Bike.
When GB hits the stage, the audience can expect an intense and heartfelt presence, where lyrical language blossoms are lifted into the air by minimalist guitar figures and beautiful synth melodies.
