Surrender to the melancholy and darkness of HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY
Over the past decade, HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY have managed to cement themselves as pioneers in the post-black metal movement. Since 2011, the Austrian duo has invited their fans deep into their melancholic maelstrom.
The duo is the perfect union of multi-instrumentalist MS and vocalist JJ. Their catalog consists of songs composed by MS and with lyrics about trauma, loss and delirium written by JJ. Together, these two elements provide the recipe for their unique blend of atmospheric metal and melodic post-rock.
Since 2011, the duo has released an album every other year, making five albums in nine years. This time, however, they are doing things differently. In January 2025, their new album, Scorched Earth, will be released, the fruit of four years of work. The writing process began directly after the 2021 release Mære. JJ describes the creation as follows:
"So, 'Scorched Earth' came together after years of experimenting with untypical sounds, yet on the other hand trying to stay true to our original post black metal style." and he adds about the title: "Scorched Earth is a snapshot of the world we are living, a world that's tragically broken."
Now they are embarking on a long-term tour with the album, starting in North America in February and continuing in Europe in the spring. On April 9th, it will be Lille VEGA's turn to be enveloped by HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY's unique sound.

The fierce Swiss trio E-L-R pursue a distinctive sound. The band's doomgaze style is based on a down-tempo sound with an epic side of doom metal, while introducing other elements, such as an almost minimalist repetitive phrasing reminiscent of shamanistic rituals.
On their latest album, Vexier (2022), the sound has grown heavier and darker, and the long-player helps break the echoing fog, like a new chapter for the band.
