QUINCY JONES AND HIS POP MUSIC - A TRIBUTE CONCERT
Quincy Jones is one of pop music's greatest icons, known for his exceptional career as a producer and creative liaison for countless artists. Now we pay tribute to his impressive contributions with a spectacular concert, where a strong house orchestra, led by Amanda Wium, and well-known Danish musicians (Burhan G, Drew Sycamore and others) will take us on a musical journey through Quincy's pop universe.
In November 2024, we said goodbye to the legendary multi-talent at the impressive age of 91. With a long and significant career, Quincy Jones has left his mark on the music world. He started in the 1950s and made a special mark in the jazz world, where he worked with giants such as Frank Sinatra, among others. Jones was a dominant force in film music up through the 60s before he really made his mark on pop music, which is the part of his career we zoom in on when we pay tribute to Quincy Jones in VEGA.
Jones cemented his place as a producer in the pop world by producing Michael Jackson's albums Off The Wall (1979), Thriller (1982) and Bad (1987). He also made a name for himself with Donna Summer and produced George Benson's "Give Me The Night". The list of artists he has produced for is long and includes big names across a wide range of genres such as Patti Austin, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, James Ingram and Tamia.
Come and sing along when Store VEGA is filled with decades of Quincy Jones' masterpieces on April 25th.
