In January 2024, Aarhusian Østen released its first single, "Regn", which got off to a flying start with its premiere at Soundvenue, Ugens Uundgåelige on P3 (inevitable of the week) and an interpretation in prime time on X Factor. The debut received positive attention from several leading media and at the time of writing has more than two million plays on Spotify.

The latest addition "Sang Til Min Mor" was released September 27th. A song about being hit by the darkest emotions and being confronted with the transience of life, with a production that is both violent, magnificent and beautiful. Simultaneously with the release, Østen announced that his awaited debut album, Daylight, will be released October 25th.

In May, Østen took on Lille Sal in Musikhuset for this year's SPOT Festival, where the overwhelming turnout meant that many had to go in vain, and the concert subsequently garnered great praise from several media. If you follow the Soundvenue reviewer's statement, you can expect a great live experience as an audience:

"There is something big in store for Østen. And for all the rest of us. It was clear at midnight on Friday at the Spot Festival, where he presented the songs from his debut album, which will be released later this year. Songs that already at the first meeting were so strong, that you took them home with you through the night".

With him on stage, Østen has gathered some of the country's most talented musicians. In addition to Malthe Rostrup on keys and bass, who also plays with Jada, he has Maiken Thunbo on cello, Anders Skadhede on guitar and Laurits Eriksen on drums.

Before Østen embarked on his solo career, he has worked behind the scenes as a songwriter, and in collaboration with producer Frederik Thaae i.a. been part of popular publications such as Artigeardit's Længe Leve and Barcelona's Væbnet hjerte.
