Iceage - on the floor in VEGA
On May 27th, something very special is happening at Store VEGA. The Copenhagen musicians from Iceage are stopping by – and with them they have their brand new album. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter.
The album is not set for release until May 29th, but at this concert, the audience has the opportunity to hear songs from the album live before the release officially sees the light of day.
When Iceage fills Store VEGA with their high-intensity rock salvos, it won't be from the stage, but from the floor in the middle of the hall. In a so-called 360 format, you get a unique chance to experience Iceage up close. For Love of Grace & the Hereafter is produced and mixed by Iceage himself in collaboration with Nis Bysted.
The result is an album that feels both explosive and uplifting: energetic, melodic and driven by a new direction in the band's sonic universe. The first songs took shape in the wake of lead singer Elias Rønnenfelt's solo album Heavy Glory (2024).
With the ballads from that album out of the system, the band sought back towards the raw and explosive. “Having had an outlet for stripped-back balladry, it felt like the right thing to channel a more ferocious side of ourselves for the band's next step,” says Elias Rønnenfelt in a press release.
For almost two decades, Iceage has moved uncompromisingly through post-punk, hardcore and dark romanticism, always with an eye towards the beauty of collapse.
The debut New Brigade (2011) quickly attracted attention with its intense mix of post-punk and hardcore, while subsequent releases such as You're Nothing, Plowing Into the Field of Love, Beyondless and Seek Shelter expanded the band's sound with grand, theatrical and grandiose elements.
