Descend into the London underground with electronic beats and playful hyperpop from Worldpeace DMT and The Femcels
Worldpeace DMT
Worldpeace DMT originates from London's vibrant underground scene, which also includes names like fakemink and Bassvictim.
Behind the artist name is Leo Fincham, who, after releasing his debut EP in October 2024, now is current with his first album,The Velvet Underground & Rowan. An album created in collaboration with Rowan Please from The Femcels.
On the album, Worldpeace DMT unfolds a hyperpop universe where electronic productions merge with Y2K aesthetics, shoegaze and indie pop.
The inspiration for The Velvet Underground & Rowan ranging from 60s giants like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Beach Boys to 00s and 10s indie in a colorful, contemporary sound that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.
The Femcels
Closely connected to the same London underground as Worldpeace DMT, The Femcels move in a sonic landscape where hyperpop, glitch and electronic pop merge into an uncompromising expression.
The duo, consisting of Rowan Miles and Gabriella Turton, have been creating music together since 2024 and debuted in 2026 with the album I Have To Get Hotter.
The music is carried by crisp synths, quirky beats and unpredictable tones from piano, breezing sounds and sun-drenched guitar riffs.
The references draw strings back to the 00s electronic scene and electroclash as well as more experimental electronic pop. A sound that is, however, constantly filtered through the duo's own, playful approach.
The text universe revolves around identity, desire and uncertainty; all delivered with The Femcel's mix of humor, distance and vulnerability, where the sincere and the ironic are closely intertwined.
