One of the most original voices in Danish hip hop is back in VEGA
In an equilibrist mix of lyrical slum romance, black eyeliner and heavy bass, rap talent, Nøx , is back after the success of the release, Pynt (2023).
And with her she has three singles from this year: “Mercedes”, “Ikk din pige” and “Bang Bang”, all of which are new tunes that the audience can look forward to hearing at VEGA on May 22nd.
With Pynt she solidified her position as one of the most personal rappers of the time, simultaneously grabbing the cover of GAFFA and delivering a critically acclaimed concert in Lille VEGA.
In 2024, she stormed Roskilde Festival, where GAFFA awarded her five stars and the following cascade of flattery:
“Nøx walks on stage… Or 'walks' is actually imprecise, she waltzes in carelessly, whirls around, slinks around and acts exactly as you would expect the queen of cat-paw disasters to do.”
Of course, the lyrics illuminate the rapper's musical work, and especially for Nøx, her preference is for poetry in the style of Danish poets such as Søren Ulrik Thomsen and Michael Strunge. The former has even been compared to Nøx after her performance at Lille VEGA in 2023, where GAFFA wrote:
“She shares some of the same continuity in her music, and her wordplay drifts around in loose, space-faring whims, especially from Copenhagen's nightlife, much a la Thomsen.”
The night opens up again when Nøx once again forges raw and quirky bars in Lille VEGA.
