Up-and-coming rap duo fills VEGA with irreverent hip-hop charm
Joey Valence & Brae knows how to strike while the iron is hot. Since Joseph Bertolino and Braedan Lugue formed the alternative rap duo four years ago, they have released three albums and have seen the attention for their quirky, edgy and catchy hip-hop grow exponentially.
The duo are huge fans of the Beastie Boys, and you can sense the same restless, rambling energy and irreverent approach in their playful tracks, which zap between old-school beats, electro, punky shout-rap, funk grooves, modern R&B and ear-massaging hooks.
In August, the band released their latest album, Hyperyouth, to great praise from music YouTuber Anthony Fantano. The album features guest appearances from experimental rapper JPEGMafia and hyperpop star Rebecca Black, among others.
Just like their idols from the Beastie Boys, Joey Valence & Brae have a reputation for being an explosive experience, and in their short life they have already performed at both Pumpehuset and Ideal Bar in Denmark.
Now the American hip-hop stars are taking it to the next level when they give their biggest concert to date in Denmark on May 24, 2026 in Store VEGA, with their energetic homage to 90s punk rap.
