Moroccan hip-hop star, Snor, forges bars in VEG
It is behind specially designed black masks that the Moroccan artist Snor currently storming the Middle Eastern and North African music scene.
And it is precisely the enigmatic and anonymous nature of the mask that stands as a central, creative driving force in the musician's universe, where the enigmatic echoes in the dark corners of the music and in Snor's distinct stage presence.
Snor’s sound universe is a shimmering, hazy musical mosaic made up of beats from trap, hip hop and R&B; held together by the sound of heavy bass and razor-sharp Moroccan-language lines. Tracks like “HKAYA”, “Dawk Lya”, “Lgana”, “De9a De9a” and the latest single “Mab9ach” are sparkling examples of how versatile an artist Snor is. Here, one moment of hypnotic, laid-back grooves and the next uncompromising, intense passages ring out.
The versatility of the songs crystallizes on stage, where Snor brings his enigmatic expression into the live experience.
As part of a larger line-up, Snor played to no less than 150,000 people in Rabat in 2022. The concert, organized by Rabat capital of African culture, was an audience milestone in Morocco with its staggering number of guests.
