When Mathias Ranch visits Ideal Bar, it's not just with the new EP Barn Af Venedig, but also with experience and an already existing reputation as an incredibly skilled live name. Mathias Ranch originally got his breakthrough as the lead singer of the now defunct pop duo Statisk, and after a few years of silence on the release front, he is back with the aforementioned debut EP.

Musically, Ranch leans on the previous project with lyrics that describe with raw honesty a childhood and youth shaped by unrest and contrasts. Lyrics that move in a cross-field between raw realism and poetic images, where love, loss, anger and hope are intertwined in a timeless sound.

Audiences and critics got a taste of both new music and Ranch's live qualities when he stopped by Spot festival back in May. GAFFA gave it five stars and declared that "Mathias Ranch has gone from static to dynamic and has padded his discography with (even more) wonderful songs."

The stage is set for an evening that exudes 70s melancholy á la CV Jørgensen, but also with room for modern electronic surfaces and atmospheric productions.
