Smag På Dig Selv in VEGA

One drummer and two saxophonists. That's the recipe for one of the Nordic region's wildest live bands. It tastes of punk, it tastes of jazz, a little bit of pop, hip hop, afrobeat and maybe some 90s dance.

Former VEGA's Udvalgte trio Smag På Dig Selv epitomises instrumental euphoria - dangerous, forward-thinking, seductive and free. The three friends in Smag På Dig Selv joined forces on saxophones and drums in 2018 with a vision to kick people onto the dance floor and push the boundaries of the usual concert experience and genre understanding. Since then, they have been roaming the Danish underground, leaving stages, dance floors and audiences in sweat-dripping ecstasy.

Over the past five years, Smag På Dig Selv have played countless concerts across the country and in Russia and have established themselves as a ballsy live phenomenon in many underground environments. In September, they released their second EP, Middelklassen Avler Kun Skeletter (2023), which once again catapults the listener into an eclectic stratosphere of wildness, euphoria and magical jazzy tones.

In addition to their tireless techno-inspired energy, they've made a name for themselves with their use of everything from Nordic throat singing, poetry readings and industrial props on stage.

Reviewers at this year's Roskilde Festival had never heard anything like it, and Politiken's reviewer was left in shock after the trio's concert at Huset during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, where he wrote in his five-star review: "I'm still a bit in shock. Sore sticks. Sore neck. Euphoric to the bone."

Alice Ai is a new name on the Danish pop scene. Her alternative take on the genre, mixing emotional depth with electronic punch, explores the tension between human vulnerability and artificiality, which is also reflected in her artist name. The name combines “Alice”, which evokes adventurousness and curiosity, and “Ai”, which is a clear allusion to the synthetic nature of artificial intelligence. This duality permeates both Alice Ai's sound and persona, allowing both artist and audience to explore a contrasting universe through music.
