Sunnan serves spaghetti soul in Lille VEGA
After a critically acclaimed summer tour, Sunnan are back on the road, embarking on an extensive Scandinavian tour in support of their forthcoming album, Spaghetti Soul, out 9 October.
The story of Sunnan began in 2020, when the five musicians came together in a picturesque barn in Sunnanhed, Dalarna. Although they had all spent years playing with a wide range of artists, something clicked when they started making music together.
What emerged was a sound that was unmistakably their own. Drawing on the visual language of classic cinema and the sweeping soundscapes of Ennio Morricone, Sunnan create music that feels both timeless and adventurous.
Their songs have a cinematic sense of movement — music that seems to carry you somewhere, even when you don’t quite know where you’re going. Their influences span both film and real life, from memories of those early days in the Swedish countryside to films such as Wim Wenders’ Paris, Texas.
The result is a world of sound that feels at once familiar and entirely new. And while Sunnan have released just one album so far, they have already earned three Grammis nominations, scored several hits on Swedish radio station P3, and played to sold-out audiences.
Now, they’re bringing that world to Lille VEGA. Think of it as the musical love child of Moby and David Lynch — an evening of soul, cinema and strange new landscapes you may not have known existed, but won’t want to leave.
