30th anniversary concert with The Blue Van in VEGA
After a long hiatus, The Blue Van are back in the spotlight.
On October 2, electricity will once again surge through jack cables and effect pedals as the Danish rock quartet breathes life into the autumn season with songs from their latest album, Recording Club of 1996.
Released at the end of January this year, the album marks the band’s 30th anniversary — a milestone they will celebrate, among other things, with an anniversary concert at Lille VEGA.
Recording Club of 1996 is filled with melodic, powerful rock songs. According to the band’s press release, the album’s 12 tracks revolve around the theme of atonement — an insistence on compassion and humanity in a fragmented age.
The Blue Van’s concert at Blå Sol in Randers last year was reviewed by GAFFA under the headline: “Seasoned retro rockers delivered in Randers.” The music outlet awarded the show four impressive stars and praised the band with lines such as: “A timeless band I’d gladly spend another 20 years with.”
The band, which has existed since 1996, made their debut with the album The Art of Rolling in 2005 and has since delighted rock fans at home and abroad with their exceptional ear for ’60s-inspired rock sounds.
Although The Blue Van are celebrating 30 years as a band this year, it is still the very same lineup — Steffen Westmark (vocals/guitar), Søren Christensen (guitar/keys), Allan Villadsen (bass), and Per Mølgaard Jørgensen (drums) — that audiences can experience at Lille VEGA this autumn.
