100 Cowboys is the title of Carter Vail's third album, released in July. Perfect timing to be the soundtrack for travelling down dusty country roads. The album is inspired by spaghetti westerns, where Vail has utilised the idea of creating a persona. He has wrapped his emotions in uplifting pop-rock songs.

Despite the writing process being a healing process after a hard and dark period, the album doesn't consist of heartbreaking songs that are good for crying to. Quite the opposite. On the opening track "Arizona", fuzzy guitar riffs and encouraging melodies make the song feel like sunshine. The lyrics are about past love, when the spark has faded from a no-longer-functioning relationship.

Carter Vail is a trained sound engineer and has worked with country musicians in Nashville. The recording studio he ran with his friends wasn't always the best business. However, it gave him the opportunity to work on his own music. With short, humorous songs, Vail quickly gained a large following on TikTok and Instagram. Alongside the release of his more serious, yet still tongue-in-cheek albums, Carter Vail has continued to post entertaining song videos on social media.
