CEVIL captivates VEGA with her playful pop universe
Behind the artist name CEVIL says 24-year-old Cecilie Vahle from Djursland. The young – now Copenhagen-based – singer, songwriter and producer has been writing songs since childhood and spent countless hours in the rehearsal room absorbed in the many facets of music.
It was her own curiosity that drove her to embark on the next phase of her creative career. With an empty calendar after graduating from high school, she began producing music, and through stubbornness and natural musicality, it formed the foundation for CEVIL.
Driven by a dream and a circle of friends in the Copenhagen music industry, it wasn't long before the need to move closer to the big city arose and in 2022 CEVIL moved to Copenhagen to get closer to the music. It was here that she met Birk Storm (PRISMA, Nicklas Sahl, Laura Ziani), who quickly became a close sparring partner.
CEVIL debuted in the fall of 2023 with his brutally honest single “Don't Speak,” which in a recommendation from GAFFA was described as:
“Cunning vocoder, quiet strings and a rock-solid vocal that speaks directly to the zeitgeist and cements her as an artist we can hardly wait to hear even more from.”
Since then, the young musician has released several singles that have created a solid start to her artistic journey.
With their uncompromising pop music, with a touch of retro and hyperpop, CEVIL draws inspiration from many different corners of the music world. From St. Vincent to HAIM and Caroline Polachek, CEVIL's sources of inspiration revolve around the anti-fabricated sound that oozes integrity. An integrity that also clearly shines through CEVIL's own catalog.

Vega is a new indie artist project that wants to create a space of acoustic warmth, electronic universes and dreamy megalomania. In addition, the meaning of the name Vega is “the brightest star” in the night sky. With great inspiration from the VEGA venue in Copenhagen, Vega has a live sound that creates a feeling of standing in the same room as the music.
Vega works with various themes such as relationships, society, technology, dreams and identity. Vega finds great inspiration from the greats such as Radiohead, Agnes Obel and Phoebe Bridgers, but also from emerging artists such as Barbro and Karoline Funder.
