The American musician and songwriter has a long CV packed with musical hits. Besides releasing his own captivating indie pop compositions, he has been a member of the mighty rock band Deerhof, released wonderful art rock songs with The Curtains and collaborated with artists such as Weyes Blood, Kurt Vile, Le Ren and Marina Allen.

On July 12th, he releases his new album Paint a Room, which follows up the masterful self-titled album from 2019.

Through crisp hooks, sky-high beautiful harmonies and driven grooves crooner Chris Cohen profound lyricism about both the magnificence and complexity of the world.

The album was recorded live in collaboration with bassist Davin Givhan, drummer Josh Da Costa and keyboard player Jay Israelson, each of whom added extra life and finesse to the demos sent to them before the recording process began.

Cohen has already given a taste in the form of the achingly beautiful "Sunever", which is about a transgender child who struggles to belong and find his right place, while Cohen soothingly sighs: "You're gonna find a way."

On Paint a Room Cohen's music feels like a warm spring breeze, easy to love and gentle to feel. But it often carries something heavy and deeper, which hides behind the milky white clouds.
