CRIPFEST – A mini-festival at Ideal Bar
Caspar Eric invites you to CRIPFEST, a new mini-festival that celebrates artists with disabilities and creates space for celebration, reflection, and community.
Based on his upcoming poetry collection Crip, Caspar Eric has curated an evening that brings poetry, conversation, and music together in an atmospheric and diverse setting. The stage is given to artists who, in one way or another, live with a physical or mental disability. Often, this is something we have learned to hide away, but at CRIPFEST, we want to celebrate it on stage. Both the creative power and the vulnerability.
CRIPFEST is not a release party, but a manifesto; a new platform where art and disability are not opposites, but exist side by side.
“When we think about being disabled, it quickly becomes about what people cannot do and that they need help. We rarely talk about the fact that many artists ARE disabled, and that a disability can also be a source of creativity and creative power. That is what we are trying to focus on with CRIPFEST.”
The evening features readings, conversations, live performances, and DJs with a focus on minority perspectives and strong artistic expression. The ambition is to make CRIPFEST a recurring event and platform where artists with disabilities not only get a voice, but are recognized on equal terms for their work and aesthetic vision.
