Cracks of truth and dark Americana with Lera Lynn in VEGA
American artist Lera Lynn brings music to life’s complexities when her atmospheric catalogue of songs arrives at Lille VEGA on 8 October.
American singer-songwriter Lera Lynn thrives in a playful, genre-bending musical universe where folk and indie rock are infused with a strong influence from American roots music.
Last year, the musician released the album Comic Book Cowboy — a record on which the singer and songwriter embraces life’s complexity with heartfelt sensitivity.
Across the album, tight and hard-hitting rock arrangements resonate alongside pedal steel tones and atmospheric productions, forming a grand sonic landscape that she has refined through more than a decade of releases.
On 21 May, Lera Lynn followed up with the single “Digital You (Acoustic)”, while currently immersing herself in the creative process of writing a new album. In a live setting, Lera Lynn’s remarkable and strikingly honest vocals truly shine, and she has earned a reputation for concerts that are equally intimate and emotionally powerful — performances that settle deep within the hearts of her audience.
Throughout both her catalogue and career, Lera Lynn has remained committed to one thing above all: telling the truth.
Lynn has also received widespread acclaim for her musical contributions to the TV series True Detective, where songs such as “The Only Thing Worth Fighting For” and “My Least Favorite Life” blend seamlessly with the show’s dark film noir aesthetic.
