Sturle Dagsland transforms Ideal Bar into an explosive, ritual metal universe
As if emerging from a moss-green mountain forest, the Norwegian metal shepherd Sturle Dagsland takes his listener on a journey into ever-changing soundscapes of adventurous metal that draws inspiration from Norwegian folk music, shamanism and avant-garde pop.
The award-winning musician is known for his wild, intense and deeply original live performances. And together with his brother, Sjur, Sturle creates an explosive sound universe where ethereal melodies collide with raw primal power – carried by Sturle's unique vocals.
On October 10, 2025, Sturle Dagsland's long-awaited second album Dreams and Conjurations will be released - a sonic journey through mythical landscapes, where ancient traditions, electronic experiments and screaming metal merge. The music contains both beauty and chaos, ambient ghost stories and futuristic soundscapes.
Sturle and Sjur have played concerts all over the world – from Shanghai to New York, Greenland and all the way to the mouth of the Nile in Africa. On their journey, they have acquired instruments that are used in their genre-bending music: Nordic folk instruments such as the nyckelharp and goats horns, the guzheng from China, the West African kora, the Hungarian string instrument cimbalom and many more. Every note exudes the places where the music was born – in the mountains, in storms, on ships and in dusty industrial landscapes.
When Sturle Dagsland thunders through Ideal Bar on October 18th, he opens the door to the unknown. It's not just a concert – it's a ritual, an adventure and an explosion of sound that moves and transforms.
