Some musicians become great by cultivating a musical expression. And then there are Unknown Mortal Orchestra , who have achieved their status as psych pop innovators by tearing down all the shelves and mixing genres in a big way!

In their world, there are no contradictions between prog rock, hip-twisting R&B, hip-hop beats, 70s disco, funk bass, 60s pop, acid rock riffs and soul harmonies.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra's music is like looking deep into a colorful kaleidoscope, where colors and patterns are constantly changing. The group's breakthrough came in 2015 with the album "Multi-Love", which was praised by Pitchfork and Rolling Stone, who compared Unknown Mortal Orchestra to neopsych favorites Tame Impala, while The Guardian and NME named the album one of the best of the year. The foot-moving single "Can't Keep Checking My Phone" was an international hit and a signature song for the group.

In 2018, two releases followed: the infectiously flamboyant studio album Sex & Food and the more introverted instrumental album IC-01 Hanoi. The latest studio album was released in 2023 in the form of V, which was praised by Uncut and Paste Magazine, among others. However, this does not mean that Unknown Mortal Orchestra has been on the lazy side. On the contrary, 2025 has offered two new releases.

The instrumental album was released in the spring. IC-02 Bogota, which Pitchfork gave a great score of 7.3, while The Line of Best Fit gave it an 8 out of 10 and the following salute: "something for fans to pour over and get lost in with a huge amount of variety and talent on display". And in June the EP "Curse" followed, where the band, among other things, flexes their fuzzy psych rock muscles.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra has been frequent guests here, most recently with a fantastic summer concert at SYD FOR SOLEN 2023.

Now the group's fans can look forward to a joyful reunion with new songs on the setlist when Unknown Mortal Orchestra takes the stage at Store VEGA on March 15, 2026.
