With Clateman's quirky hyperpop sound and glitchy dubstep productions combined with Manow's lo-fi vocals and self-deprecating lyrics, Bassvictim finds themselves stylistically somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 Gecs, Jockstrap and Two Shell.

When Polish-English vocalist Maria Manow and American-English producer Ike Clateman met in Berlin in 2022, it wasn't exactly creative sparks, but rather cold air that arose between them. Four months later, they met again at a party in London, where they found common ground in their love for the party's intense bass. They then came up with the name Bassvictim, and the next day they met and recorded their first song, "Air on a G String."
